South India Tour

Day 01: Arrive Cochin

arrival at Cochin meeting and assistance at the airport by our representative and followed by transfer to Hotel Abad Atrium(4*). Afternoon proceed for half day city tour of Cochin with English speaking guide visiting Dutch palace, Jewish Synagouge and Chinese fishing net. Overnight stay at hotel.

Cochin, with a fine natural harbour, has been Kerala's center of maritime trade for innumerable centuries. Along the harbour, rows of antediluvian Chinese fishing nets indicate Kerala's trade with China, just as buildings along the water's edge testify to the erstwhile presence of Dutch and Portuguese colonisers. Jewtown, complete with an immaculately preserved synagogue, has a flavour all its own, while Tripunathura, at the other end of the city, has many traditional houses with central courtyards. Kerala's multitude of faiths - Islam, Judaism, and a host of sects of Christianity and Hinduism - all coexist harmoniously in a state that is known for its Marxist inclinations! Kerala's traditions of dance forms, which originated from temple worship, can be witnessed at regularly held performances. Lecture-demonstrations of the most spectacular of these - Kathakali - are held daily at many centres in Cochin.Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Cochin - Alleppey (70 Kms / 1 ½ Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel. Afternoon drive to Alleppey boatjetty and boarch Houseboat on backwaters (houseboat stay will be on full board basis). Whole day houseboat will cruise in backwaters and at night stationed at one place for overnight stay.

Alleppey: The waterways around Alleppey are a world of palm fringed waterways - elderly sailboats, long barges transporting tons of coconuts and tiny skiffs used to transport children to school are common sights on these backwaters.

Day 03: Alleppey - Kumarakom (35 Kms /1 hrs drive)
Morning disembark from houseboat and drive by car to Kumarakom. On arrival at Kumarakom check-in at HOTEL Coconut Lagoon (best resort). Overnight stay at hotel.

Kumarakom : An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. Boating and fishing facilities are available at Kumarakom. Holiday packages on the houseboats, traditional Kettuvallams, are an out-of-this-world experience at Kumarakom.

Day 04: Kumarakom
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day free to relax. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Kumarkom - Kovalam (174 Kms / 5 hrs drive)
Breakfast at Hotel and later drive to Kovalam beach. On arrival at Kovalam Checkin at Hotel Travencore Heritage (5* resorts). Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 06: Kovalam
Breakfast at Hotel. Rest of the day free to relax under the palm trees or in the pool - or try an Ayurvedic massage or steam bath to rejuvenate you. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 07: Kovalam - Kanyakumari (90 Kms / 2 ½ Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning drive to Kanyakumari and checkin at Hotel Singaar International(3* best available). Later visit Vivekanand rock and view evening Sun Set at sea. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 08: Kanyakumari - Madurai (235 Kms / 6 hrs drive)
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning drive to Madurai. On arrival checkin at Hotel Taj Garden retreat(5* resorts). Rest of the day at leisure.

Madurai : One of South India's great temple towns, Madurai is synonymous with the celebrated Meenakshi Temple. Situated on the banks of river Vaigai, Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era more than 2500 years old. Madurai was an important cultural and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. It was the capital city for the great Pandya kings.

Day 09: Madurai
Breakfast at Hotel. After Breakfast proceed for half day city tour visiting the beautiful Sri Meenakshi temple, the centrepiece of this city, where thousands of priests and worshippers gather daily, and Sri Thirumalai Nayak Palace. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 10: Madurai - Periyar Wildlife Park (160 Kms / 4 hrs drive)
Breakfast at hotel. Later drive to Periyar - drive through tea estates, spice gardens and wild forests. Arrive Periyar after a memorable drive of approx. 4 hours. Check- in at hotel Spice Village(best resort). In the evening visit Kumily market to buy the best spices available. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 11: Periyar
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning take a cruise at Lake Periyar for wildlife viewing. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12: Periyar - Munnar ( 106 kms / 2.5 hrs drive)
Morning breakfast at hotel and drive to Munnar-hills station in Kerala, famous of teas estates. On arrival in Munnar check in at hotel Windamere(4* similar). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 13: Munnar
Breakfast at hotel. Full day free to relax or tour around local Area with driver. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Munnar - Cochin depart (145 Kms / 4 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive back to Cochin with car and driver and drop at Airport or your desired place.
